You're right - definitely a bad morning.  My worst moment to date occurred when 
the
left rear hub on our TR6 decided to "fail" at 50 mph, of course with the wife 
along
for the ride!  Gets real exciting when the tire & wheel, with brake drum still
attached, separates from the car and climbs up into the wheel well.  
Fortunately,
the only damage (other than complete hub replacement) was a set of chewed-up 
brake
shoes.  No sheetmetal damage at all.

Such incidents DO dampen your enthusiasm - but as I remember it, the next 
evening I
was under the car removing the "remains", and anxiously awaiting the arrival of 
my
new hubs (did the left one, too, while at it.)
