Point well taken.
I was spoiled in my earlier working days, we did a lot of Mil. Spec.
installation of computers and what not into various aircraft. We had big
bins of proper hardware to pick from.
It's a good thing I don't work there now.... it would be rally tough
_not_ to pilfer some nuts and bolts. But you didn't hear it from me.

This reminds me of a story I heard within the last week or so. A friend
who is generally competent concerning things mechanical decided to use
some stainless steel parts on his suspension. The first time that he put
the components under load.....
SPROINGGGG!
He does not use stainless anymore (no, there were no injuries or property
damage).
Stainless is bad for suspension parts.
