Congrats on getting your baby back.  The 1800 to 2000 rpm's is
definitely too high.  You should not be revving over 1000 normally. 
Some people prefer 800 rpm.  However, if your dpo also installed a
radical cam, it may be required to up the idle in order to keep it
running.
