  I have one of each, and prefer the ignitor. This isn't a very
"unbiased" decision because the Crane is just in a box in my 
parts bin, but still.
     
  I don't have enough data to judge reliability, but I suspect
they are both very acceptable. As far as price, installation, 
looks, and all that goes, the Pertronix seems to be the clear 
winner. It is usually cheaper, installs faster, has no visible 
parts, etc. etc.
