Hi everyone,
Well, I put all the parts back on my TR4 yesterday(rebuilt carbs, painted
exhaust manifold and polished intake manifold).
Problem is, I cant get her to start, I have not messed with the electricals
since she ran last(1 month ago) and she is getting fuel to both carbs. Is
there sometjing I need to be doing in order to get her to kick over so that I
can tune her and get the carbs in synch? I feel like I'm skipping something.
Possibly some starting fluid sprayed into the carbs.
Also, I noticed that she is leaking fuel from the carb closest to the
interior(i guess thats the rear carb). I'll check to see if everything is
tight tonight but could this possibly be affecting it's startability?
When I rebuilt the carbs, I noticed that they had different numbers. The front
was 1825(I think) and the rear was 3609(or something like that) Noticably,
there was no difference. Is it normal to have two different stamped numbers on
the carbs?
Last question, when I got my carb rebuild kit, a gross jet was supplied. I
did not use it but with all the previuos talk about excess fuel in the carbs,
I'm thinking maybe I might have a similar problem due to my leaking. If go
with the gross jets, what will I have to modify on the carbs( what do they
replace, do I need any extra components, etc.)
Thanks for any help anyone can offer and also thanks for putting up with this
long posting? I refuse to let my inexperience with these cars keep me
sidelined like it did last year.
