The absence of the speedo/stabiliser is definitely the source of your
non-functioning gauges -- the wipers may coincidentally be something
else ... check out Dan Masters' recent addition on wiper troubleshooting
in the maintenance section of VTR website.  An excellent guide, as per
usual.
