replace top or paint 1st?

Hi all,

I am in the process of doing a little cosmetic surgery on my "80 TR7
convertible.  In the very near future I plan to paint and replace the top.
Does it matter which I do 1st?  I am hiring people to do both jobs for me, and
both have very good reps and come highly recommended, so just wondering if it
really matters which is completed 1st.
