John,
Have I ever!!!!  I didn't reasize at the time of re-assembly that the
steering shaft has to be reattached to the rack and pinion at precisely
the right place in order for the cam that cancels the turn signals to
strike each side properly.  If you removed the column, perhaps you have
the same problem.  If not, it could be that the cancellation actuator on
the switch assembly is sticking so that the cam does not contact it.  

THe best thing to do is take it off and examine it to see if there is
free lay in the two actuators.  A little bot of lubricant will likely do
the trick.  But if the first thing I mentioned is the trouble, it can
only be corrected by removing and properly installing the shaft in the
right position (can at rest between the actuator ears).
