After a few replies about frames for sale, I'll say a little more about
what I'm doing.
Remember that I'm going to be using a SOLID rear axle on this car.
In order to do this one takes the leaf springs from a pinto/bobcat.
Then you cut them so they are 20" long.
Next you flip the spring over. Then you attach what used to be the middle
of the springs to the frame.
Then the solid axle is attached to the other ends of the spring.
There are also a few more goodies like tie rods to adjust the angle of the
axle and a Panhard bar.
This process requires alot of modification to the frame.
Mine is rusted out in some places.
I'm also planning on using a mustang II front end for more strength. It
will also allow the modification of the front crossmember to allow for the
front sump of the engine I'm using. This way the engine will sit down in
the right spot. The current plan is a dual crossmember system to make up
for the one we're removing.
Since I'm going to be constructing a new rear end and a new frond end, I
figured I might as well replace the center section as well...
