Having driven vehicles that at one time or another lost vacuum, I think you 
would just wind up with Manual brakes if the servo failed.

You know the type of brake servos fitted to GT6's, the 
straight through veriaty.  If you retro fitted one of
these to a Spitfire, and it faild.  Would the efect of
it not working detrement the brake proformance to less 
than with out a brake servo.  

I wan't to fit one, but am reluctant too, because of
the posible dangers if the servo is not in good condition. 

Of cource I would overhaull, but I would still like to
know of anyones personal experiences.  This is quite
low down on the list of things to do.
