Now that the electron war seems to be over and the humans have one out,
I would like to see if anyone out there with a 1500 spitfire (mines a
79) has the dimensions for the boot tank cover (the one with the light
on it) and the interior tank cover for behind the seats (which i hope to
get soon) these are the two masonite/cardboard pieces that cover the
fuel tank for aesthetics purposes. I can fabricate them myself, i just
need the dimensions as the ones that were in the car were toast due to
the weather and sitting outside 11 years without protection. (REAL
DPO).
I remember seeing a thread late last year when i first joined the list
about not being able to get the oil plug out of the pan, i now have that
problem, pan is off car, been blasted and painted but i need to change
the plug to a new one, been soaking it in blaster for the last two days
and cant seem to get it to budge, haven't tried heat yet, the strange
thing is i put the blaster that dave moag sent me (thanks dave i owe you
one) on the three bolts that we had to cut off to get the rh seat out,
let it sit for a while and out they came with a pair of channel locks,
no such luck with the oil pan plug, is heat the next option??
TIA and TTFN
larry,
1979 spitfire #FM99248U currently several shades of overspray
50 thousand driveway miles, at least it seems that way from pushing it
around.
