The GT6 engine is basically the same engine as what is in the 2000
anyway, a 1998 cc Stromberg Carbed Six cylinder. The 2000 develops
about 90 BHP whereas the GT6 (according to my figures) gives 95. The
2000 uses a better (TR4 based) gearbox that is larger than the GT6 item,
so conversely won't fit easily in a vitesse/GT6 unless the chassis is
well modified. GT6 mounts are different as a matter of course,
sprouting from the block whereas the 2000 mounts drop from the engine
front plate.
As there are basically no differences between the engines, and each ahs
the same potential and will fir the same parts as the other, What can be
gained from a swap???
