Hello Gerhard
All TR6 gearbox assemblys are the same length. Non overdrive gearboxs
will have a rear extension which is absent on A-od and J-od gearboxes.
the j-overdrive gearbox has an adapter housing between the gearbox and
the overdrive unit. The adapter housing and J-overdrive are together the same
length as the rear extension on a non-overdrive gearbox.
The A-overdrive bolts (i think) directly to the back of the gearbox and has a
short rear extension. Again this has the same length as the rear extension
on a non-od box.
A-overdrives were fitted thru 72 (cc-prefix vin #s) and J-overdrives fitted 73
and later (cf-prefix vin#s)
All TR6s have same length driveshaft - with or without overdrive.
Cheers!
