I would agree that brazing or welding are the way to go on the battery box. If solder won't "stick" to steel then how do they adhere lead when restoring damaged body panels. Isn't that a form of soldering? I think that the flux only sets up a capillary action that allows the solder to flow but I don't know what causes it to bond to the steel panel.
