herald and vitesse rear springs should have nylon 'friction pads' separating some of the larger leaves. these enable the leaves to slide freely without grease. in my experience they will happily slide over paint but will eventually wear it out. do any listers know if spit, gt6 springs have these nylon pads ? on most none restored cars (heralds and vitesses) i have seen, the pads have completely worn away leaving only the locating 'nipple' in the hole in the leaf. happy new year everybody. derek |
