For those who still have the fiberboard duct, here's a easy tip that has worked
well for me.  I have applied a liberal spray coating of Mar-Hyde Bumper Black
from a spray can.  It penetrates the material, and gives a nice, deep, flat
black finish while waterproofing the duct.  You can clean it regularly when you
clean your engine compartment.  It looks like new - and it stays black!
