The subject of what radio can go in a TR6 came up recently. There's
nothing very special about the holes in the dash support - they're for
the 2 knob type radios (versus the flat faced (DIN- mount?)) type that
are used pretty well exclusively (I think) on new cars. They're should be
a bracket or remains thereof to let you support the back of the radio.
You can still buy 2-knob (shaft mount) radio/cassettes. $100 or so for
something decent. Not as much choice/features as the other kind. You might
want to get one with a 'hi-power' amp (4x25W or so) so that you can hear it
well enough. Going with a shaft mount saves enlarging the hole in the
dash, which is of course somewhat structural (probably wouldn't hurt but
some might consider it a little 'butcherous').
