Nedra,
Since My Spit is essentially the same as far as the prop rod is
concerned, I will try to tackle this one. The rod is hinged in the
middle with the fat part of the hinge going to the suspension member.
Ths lower end attaches to the angled bracket on the suspension just in
ftont of the upper spring attachment. It is attached so that the flat
part of the lock-point is facing the back of the car.
The top part is attached to the bonnet at the end of the inner Fender
(splash guard). Make sure it is on the inside of the panel so the
bonnet closes properly. When the bonnet is closed the rod hinges
backward toward the car and folds into place. On opening the bonnet,
the rod extends just past straight in order to lock into place. There
are some washers and Nylock nuts that are used to secure the rods
without them binding.
