There are some differences almost too minor to see (and mention, such as
engineering specs and suspension settings), but there were different
grilles, different seat upholstery style and shape, other minor interior
trim differences, different radiator and filler for same, different front
turn signal lamps (on the early U.S.-spec. "Mk. 1 -- later Mk.1s and Mk.2s
for the U.S. market used a larger turn signal lamp with plastic lens,
while early Mk.1 used the same style of lamp for both side and turn
signal), etc. 

Note that backup lights were not standard until the Mk.3 Spitfire, 
although they likely were available.
