Greetings Scions.
Spent Sunday at the Van Nuys, CA All Brit Show. Terrific event, about 400
plus LBCs (and some BBCs, too - like a Mk IX Jaguar which is a real big
Muther, some Bentleys, some Rolls, etc.).
Great Triumph turn out - roughly about 15 TR3s, 8 TR4s, 15 TR6s, 8
Spitfires (only 3 early models), couple of Mayflowers, 4 Wedges and an
honest to God RHD TR5 with fuel injection. Weather was excellent, a lot of
MGs and Healeys showed up, and a surprising number of Sunbeam Tigers (God I
love the sound of that 260 Ford V8!). There was a neat Peerless GT, with a
TR4(?) engine/tranny - pretty interesting. Small showing of Jags, which
was a disappointment. Almost all of the Healeys were flawless, some
Morgans, too. There were even three of the 3 wheel Morgans in the group.
Best part of the show was that all the Triumphs were placed in the front
and the MGs were in the very back of the park - quite appropriate if you
ask me (chuckle). ;^ ) And, taking one more parting shot......a much
nicer crowd than the Porsche owners.
