Hi Martin, in re the missing brake servo, I don't think that its
absence would affect your idle, since it is a `dead-end' sort of
passage. In other words, since no air should come in through the
servo hose if the booster is leak-tight and working properly, it
should not be any different with the hose connection plugged, as
it is in your car now.
It's when the diaphragm inside the servo is leaking that too much
air is drawn into the intake, giving you a (lean) high idle problem.
