Clark wrote: Any thoughts on use of "roller rockers"? Needle bearing type or bronze bushing? Clark ++++++++++++++++++ Clark - Roller rockers are pretty damned expensive for Spits, about $650 or so. I looked at them when rebuilding my 1147cc motor and gasped at the price. While nice, and they do help somewhat, at that price they simply are not worth it UNLESS you are building a full blown race engine. For street use you would be better off spending $650 on things like some head work, hotter cam, free flow exhaust and lightened flywheel, suspension upgrade, etc. $650 goes a long way...... With respect to bronze bushes between the rockers, on the older Spits (and maybe on the later ones, too) Triumph used springs as spacers to keep the rocker arms in place. The springs obviously rely on friction to separate the arms and thus the use of precision machined bronze bushings is a good relatively inexpensive substitute for the springs. I know somebody offers these, but can't remember who. Ross D. Vincenti Asst. General Counsel/Asst. Sec'ty. Transamerica Home Loan - Legal Dept.
