No.  Hypoid is a term used for a particular way of cutting gears used in, for 
isntance, rear ends.  HYpoid oil tends to be heavy and formulated to withstand 
the shearing action the gears impose on the lubricant.  It is not grease.

It's more like Permatex gasket sealer than either.  Loctite brand threadlocker 
only locks the threaded fastner in place; it does not necessarily *seal*.
