Robt-

Your dyno is shot. Might try repolarizing the field. Then remove and
servic the unit. Often the brushes become defective or broken on older
dynos. Or convert to alternator. Just did this on two cars. I used 80
Ford Fiesta units. Bolt right up and work great.

Wire you battery neg earth first. Then remove all wires from regulator
box. Connnect "F" wire to "WL" wire (field to warning lamp). Connect
"B" (battery and any companioned wires) to "D" (dyno). Connect the
large wire at the (former) dyno end to one of the two large lugs on the
alternator. Connect what used to be the Field wire (now Warning Lamp
wire) to the smallest of the three adjacent lugs on the alterantor. You
are done. Oh, do this with the battery disconnected. And give it a
spark test (momentary connect up of the battery terminals) to make sure
all is OK. Then fire it up.

By the way, just because it worked on my car is no guarantee it will
work for you, since I do not know how your car is wired. Just a
warning. Do at your own risk.

Let us know how it works.
