I've never removed the cover on a TR6 with trans. installed, but it's a
piece of cake on the garage floor. Make sure the selector forks fit back
into the synchro hubs (easy) and re bolt. And you're going to need a new
gasket. But before you resort to that, have you tried a large pair of
vice grips, VERY tight on the plug? Those things are always a bear, but
the vice grip trick has always worked for me.
