voltage regulators for the gauges have come up on the list a few times
recently, so i thought i would just post to mention that anyone who can use a
soldering iron can build a solid state one for about three dollars. all you
need is a three terminal voltage regulator chip (an LM317 will do) and two
resistors to set the voltage. if any one is interested i will send them the
circuit. i built one for an MGB about five years ago (still working) and i
think from memory i was able to get the parts into the old regulator casing.
