Hey all,
        First for the battery. I think something is draining the battery;
we just bought a new one and it died within two days. How do I check this?
Sears has those electrical testing things on sale for Father's Day. Is this
a sign?
Now for the start problem. Recently, the car sat near my Dad's
office for over a week refusing to start. New plugs and curing a problem
with the spark plug wires arcing still rendered it dead. Two battery
recharges later (that was the old battery) it just started up. Like nothing
had ever happened. Got it down the street and it died in the middle of an
intersection when I missed a gear. Refused to start for another two days.
Finally, after much starter fluid, it revved into life again as if nothing
was ever wrong.
So all's well and good for a while. Starts on teh first turn of hte
key and runs a little rough, but, hey, check the timing. So I did
yesterday. As I had thought, it was a little off. I adjusted it correctly
and advanced it just a little and took it for a drive. I had advanced it
too far and was coming home to correct this when I missed a gear over a lot
of bumps and it died, refusing to start. So it has sat for the last twelve
hours, through a thunderstorm, and still refuses to start. Oh, yeah, I had
to charge the battery again.
About those gears: bad gearbox. Seriously.A frined's going to sell
us his old GT6 box (with an overdrive!) if we can ever get the thing
running again.

Anyway, thanks for reading!
