Don't re-invent the wheel. This equipment is available over the counter,
already engineered and operational. I doubt that you are too worried
about up-rating the winding in your alternator to include super conduction
qualities since the standard copper is a working solution to the need for a
supply of DC. The same is true for changing to what amount to solid state
"points". Go with what works and save your time and training for solutions
to unsolved problems.
