One of the nicest things about going to an electric fan on a TR is the
way it frees up the engine to rev. That crank mounted fan chews up a
lot of horsepower.
I once upon a time put together a kit using a flex-fan, which flattens
out at speed, for my GT6+. I sold the parts before I got it on the
road, though, so I have no idea how well it worked. Mike, you out
there? Did you ever install that?
I still believe that electric is the way to go. It does exactly the
right thing - providing lots of fan at low engine speeds when you need
it, and no fan at high engine speeds when you don't. In contrast, the
crank-mounted fan does exactly the wrong thing.
