Which way round do thrust washers go?

Thrust washers should be fitted with the two grooves on each washer
facing the crank thrust surface that the faces will meet.  This allows
oil to lube the only moving surface that touches the thrust washers.

Clear as mud right.

I know i will be corrected if wrong.
