I had the same problem when I did my Spit. I opted to braze in some brass to
fill the joint and finish it off smooth.

Hi all,

I'm currently getting my spitfire back together after some major
panelwork and I have a question for the list. Where the outer sill
on the spitfire meets the rear wing (or wing lower repair
section), there is a clearly defined joint on an original car. My
replacement panels fit together neatly leaving just such a joint, but
my question is, how do you weld the two panels together at this
point. Do you weld it, or do you just secure the panels top and
bottom with spot (plug) welds and maybe use some seam sealer on the
joint?

Thanks,

Jonathan
