I bought a Lincoln "weldpak 100" about 1 year ago from home depot. If
memory serves; Unit $300, mig conversion kit $70, 80 cf argon/co2 bottle
$80 (used from a local welding supply). This is a 110 volt unit and is
quite versatile. Parts and supplies are availabe and in stock at home
depot so you can get what you need even on the weekend. The 80cf bottle
lasts a long time (the size of a scuba tank). I have had good luck with
frame, floor, body repairs. A friend came over and got me started and I
took over from there. I got a 2 shelf heavy duty rolling cart from Harbor
Freight for $39 and cut a hole slightly larger than the bottle thru the
back of the top shelf. I split a rubber fuel hose to cover the sharp
edges and pad the bottle. The bottle can be set down thru the top shelf
and is held by the boittom shelf. This leaves a reasonably portable
rolling set up. I you need more portability, use self shielding wire and
you can weld wherever there is 110v supply as the unit itself is compact
and has a carrying handle.
Good luck, Dan
