Do they fit between the bulkhead and arch or are they 
just clipped on the arch and (in theory) cover the gap. 


on my 79 spit, they just clip onto the arch...about 4 or 5 small
metal clips hold them in place. mine fit better after a few months of
sitting
"in place"...i don't recall the bonnet closing w/trouble though......
