Greetings to the list:
Contemplating removal of the engine/trans unit from the 3A. The front clip
and rad are out as is the tubular crossmember. The engine does not appear
to have any convenient lifting points/eyes, etc. Figure I can use the
intake as a lifting point, also contemplating one of the head bolts with
another head nut threaded onto top nut holding an eye or lifting hook.
Initially wanted to remove engine/trans as a unit. Is this the way to go?
Removal of the trans is fairly straightforward. It might be easier to
remove them as separate components.
Still stuck with lifting points on the engine. Any suggestions? Have
witnessed some brutal efforts by others - removing the valve cover and using
the rocker shaft as a lifting bar! Recommended?
