When the inner sleave and rubber have been removed, what's wrong with a
good old fashioned hack saw(carefully).  Failing that, buy a new spring,
and use the old one for smashing idiots who STILL call OUR cars MG's in
the grolls!!!!(pc version = genitals) :-)
