Greetings to the list:
Have been following the discussion on motor mounts and shims and am also
contemplating removing the engine/trans from my 3A to replace a frost plug
and clean up the engine compartment. Is it easier (?) to remove the
engine/trans as a unit? I have the front clip off, rad out and cross member
removed. When replacing the engine, am also considering replacing motor
mounts as they look like the originals are kind of tired. What about shims
and "aligning" the engine/trans? Would you start by using new mounts and
the old shims or does the alignment process have to start from scratch.
Reading with envy all this talk about top down driving. A nice, bracing -9
