You'd be surprised.  Some copyright holders are viciously protective of their 
intellectual property, even if they have no plans to ever reprint it.  
Blithely assuming it's OK is a good way to find yourself in legal trouble.

I'm not a lawyer, and this is not legal advice, but here at Xerox we are, um, 
shall I say constantly aware of these issues?

I'd suggest at least contacting Haynes directly; maybe they can point you to a 
distributor, sell a copy direct or, who knows?  they might bless your project. 
 Stranger things have happened.
