Hi all, a brief one for everyone.
I have a set of period accessory American Racing "Libre" wheels (replicas
of the Revolutions sold in England) obtained from the original owner,
original fittment TR 250. They too rubbed on the upper A arm at more than
one half turn to the left.
Problem was all but solved by using a 1/4" spacer plate on the front hubs
(also increases track and improves handling MARGINALLY). Further,
judicious use of a grinder on the ball joint bolts so they do not protrude
from the A arm. Further work included minor radiusing of the A arm it's self.
Bottom line, if it rubs, move the wheel out. If it still rubs, mark it
with engineers blue and find out why. Don't be sacred to use a bit of
"creative engineering". Every wheel will have a slightly different offset,
hence the problem.
