1. Only overdrive model, yes - only the ratios differed.
2. nope, just bolt the thing in.
3. you'll need a shorter shaft because of the overdrive making the box =
longer. Another diff is advisable but not necessary.
4. Its really expensive over here, almost twice that of an ordinary box.
5. It'll never fit a spit engine (unless the spits a 6!), but any other =
triumph 2 litre engine.

A friend of mine has a chance to acquire an overdrive transmission for
his GT6. We have several questions for the list:
1. Will the overdrive transmission fit all GT6's (early thru late) or
just certain models. Is there more than one overdrive transmision that
was used on the GT6's?
2. Is it just a straight bolt in job or are any modifications necessary
besides hooking up the overdrive electrics?
3. Besides the overdrive switch and wiring are any other different parts
needed?
4. How much should one expect to pay for an overdrive transmission?
5. Will the ovedrive transmission fit any other Triumphs/Spitfires?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
