I finally took a crawl and flashlight through the barn last night to
check out my GT6+.
1970 model
KC75121L (Comm.)
75058KD (Body)
KD75226E (Engine)
And the winning cylinder head number is:
517528
I'm 99% sure it's the original head. The PO did tell me the head had
been off once to free up a stuck valve or two after long-term storage
(boy, he doesn't know what long-term storage is compared to me!). And,
FWIW, the last three numbers of that stamped part number were
increasingly hard to discern. Wonder why?
BTW, Nick (Nora, anyone else): where is the corresponding part number on
the "narrow-head" sixes (GT6 Mk.1, Vitesse 1600)?

* Mrs Irrelevant: Oh, is it a jet? *
* Man: Well, no... It's not so much of a jet, it's more your, er, *
