I have a couple of comments in response.

-  Since the dash is exposed, you typically need a very stable product
for underlayment, that's a big part  of the reason for the OEM use
of a veneered marine plywood.

-  I believe teak is very stable, so if you prefer the grain/look of
the wood, it will probably last very well.

Does anybody on the list have any longer term experience with how the
Teak holds up?
