We made it back alive.
We got home last night from a long trip to Wisconsin to attend the VSCDA
fall festival at Road America. The weather wasn't the best but the
people were! It was great to put faces with names. I had the pleasure
of meeting Tom Gentry, Mark Joslyn, Bob Lang and Greg Petrolati from the
Triumph list. (sorry I missed Siebkens Saturday!) Jeff Rust from Six
Pack. And of course Irv Korey and Brad Cohn. Two great guys with
hearts of gold. It was good to see TR-4 racers, Joe Alexander and Jack
Drews. Jack appears to be doing great after heart surgery. His son Tony
drove the wheels off the car. Did a superb job. Joe Alexander and his
son, Sean, also acheived personal bests in lap times. As always, Joes'
wife Linda brought us up to date on the family and travel news.
The track touring was the most fun yet. I'm still smiling :}
A special thanks to the Vintage Triumphs of Wisconsin club for their
hospitality. And to Bill Dentinger of Beady Eye Racing Team. Bill was
the one who organized the racing portion of the weekend. There was a
very nice tent set up for many of the Triumph racers.
One memorable car was the Kastner-Brophy Vitesse. I've never seen a
Triumph sedan go so fast!
Pat home again in NC
