Pat, are you running good ole gear oil?  (I seem to remember you 
were...)  Although I'm definitely not an expert, I can't see how 
blockage of a passage could cause a problem...unfortunately, I have 
nothing else to offer except good luck...if I think of anything I'll let 
you know.
