Re: Andy Mace's Triumph triumphs.
Thanks for the account of your successes with your collection. May your
run continue! I look forward to more news on Joseph and the rest. It's
great to get these anecdotes and insights into the experiences of list
members. My Triumph collection still stands at a measly "1" (Herald).
Obviously the disease is still in its early stages...
Before you ask, Andy (and Richard), I haven't looked at the carb
diaphragm yet. The car's been running okay for a few days and I'm
waiting for something else to go wrong. Yeah I know "prevention is
better than cure", and if I go over the car I'm bound to find more than a
few faults to fix. In fact I can see some of them from here (about 100
yards). But I Enjoy Driving It Too Much and subscribe to the "if it
ain't broke (really bad) don't fix it" school. Throw up your hands in
horror, see if I care. It gets driven all year round too. I'll probably
relent in the winter and deal with the underside rust problem, but that's
months away yet. Summer may have gone, but the hood's still (mostly)
down. Incidentally, a friend once had a Spit, and he drove it all year
round with the hood down, except for when it was snowing. He'd tell me
"Drive fast enough and the rain just blows right over". He _did_ have a
tonneau, though. Anyone got a spare one for a Herald?
