The 9/16" nut holding the rear bumper on the later cars
is possible to remove with a 3/8" extension, i.e. about 3 ft.
Seems I got at it via the wheel well.  1/2" stuff is too
large.

You guys are not thinking straight, its not the removal that's
the problem, its the reinstallation after the $5k paint job...

Have the chrome re-plated, really helps the looks!

FYI,

You can remove the rubber bumpers on '75 and '76 cars, just
put a 1/8" to 1/4" shim in the rear, OTHERWISE the fenders bend
as they run out of slot as you tighten the rear bolts...

I plugged the front 4 holes with chrome plugs available at Pep
boys, used silicon to hold them in place.

On the '74 you've got a problem as the bumpers are notched
front and rear...  Check your bumpers you may not have the right
year on your car anyway!
