Some of you may remember my plaintive cries for help on adjusting the timing
on my 74 TR6...and how I failed to make any positive difference. The poor
thing sounded so *awful*, and had no power, that I finally conceded that I
(and it) needed professional help. The local witch doctor found mega
problems with the distributor, so he rebuilt that, replaced the points,
condenser, rotor and plugs (I thought they were getting too dirty too fast
!), and then proceeded to block the breather tubes to the carbs.

I'm not complaining, just seeking advice. It currently runs great, but
should I be concerned with the breather tubes being blocked ? It doesn't
seem quite as swift on the acceleration as I remember . Any comments
welcome.

Also, my mechanic mentioned that he didn't like TRF green plug wires
(inconsisent in quality & resistance), and that I shouldn't bother with Lucas
points/condenser/etc. I didn't tell him that most of that stuff is in the
trunk...he favors a brand "Ecklin" for plug wires/points/condenser. Any
comments ? I want to keep the car and myself happy !!

Thanks

Carol Z.
