Bruce Clough wrote and asked about the rubber connector (there's 4 of them)
that connects the Log air flow manifold to the actual cast aluminum intake
manifold on the TR7 PI engine. Exact replacements are either not available
or priced at exorbatant prices. The replacement asked about is a nearly
perfect
fit and only costs you about $12 total (2 plumbing elbows at $6 each).

The part can be found in most plumbing supply stores as well as Home
Depot, etc. It is: PlumbQuik 1 1/2" QWICK-ELL Item # PQL-150
It is manufactured by Fernco, Inc., (no street address) Davison, MI 48423
The item is a 90 degree elbow that can then be cut in half. The wide end
is a perfect fil over the intake manifold and the smaller end can be
stretched the slight amount needed to go over the tube port from the log
manifold.
This fix was used on my son's TR7 for several years before he took the car
off the road. The parts went through winter sub zero temperaturesand at
least 95+ summer heat with no problem. The rubber is softer than the
originals and because of that you can see the connector
contract slightly when you rev the engine, but there was no noticable
performance change because of it, nor did any of the 4 we installed on
his car ever break or otherwise cause a problem.
