Well, you ARE confused. The Spitfire NEVER had a sub-liter engine. The 
original Spitfire 4 had a 1147cc engine. According to my calculations, that's
more than a liter.

You mean 1147 and 1296 engines. No difference. Needles might be different,
but I'm not sure.

I've read on the list that somebody in the US and definitely someone in
England has this setup at a fairly good price.
