John Gillis asked about the upper fulcrum pins on a TR-2.
I just went out to the garage to check, and my late TR-3 has cotter pins.  I
don't want to make you feel silly, but you might try removing the nuts and
taking a fine wire brush to the threads.  It might clean enough gunk out of
the holes so you can see where they are.  Good luck,
