To the Triumph Support Group:
It's certainly nice to know that other folks have cars that don't run...
As posted earlier I missed my first planned car event (Moss' Brit Fest)
because my '59 TR 3's hydraulics went. I'm hoping to make Mahwah '96 on May
19th.
My car needs the following woik....
A. Hydraulics
B. Front End (i.e. steering)
C. I'd like the polarity reversed
My dilema...
I have a fear of working under the car...(fear of it falling on my head)
and so I use that as an excuse not to work on it myself.
My regular mechanic (1 mile away) has cleaned the rear brakes on this car,
replaced four tires and analyzed the front end needs. However, I would have
to order all of the parts. His specialty is Honda, though I've had him
work on my Audi (1987) and Dodge Van (1996). As of this moment I have not
asked him about the hydraulics or reversing the polarity.
A Brit Car specialist is about 30 miles from here. AAA flat beds my car to
him for a fee of $25. He has replaced the starter on my car and replaced a
water pump pulley. He has access to parts and I do not need to order them
myself. I have been happy with his work.
Question......
Should I go to my local mechanic (1 mile)
or
Flat bed the car 30 miles?
Thank you for your support and kind understanding...
My wife doesn't understand me.
Ciao!
Marshall
